Dog fostering is providing temporary care for a dog in your home until they are adopted into a permanent home.

Dogs need fostering for various reasons, including overcrowded shelters, medical needs or simply because they haven’t found a permanent home yet.

The length of time can vary widely but will be a minimum of 3 weeks

Fostering responsibilities typically include providing food, water, shelter, exercise, socialization, and transportation to vet appointments or adoption events. You may also need to administer medication if required.

While prior experience can be helpful, it’s not always necessary. We are there every step of the way to guide you with anything you need!

We cover all medical care and essentials including food, crates, leashes, collars, etc. Some fosters do buy extra toys and things but it’s not necessary.

Yes! We will work with you to find a foster that will fit into your home with as much ease as possible. We want fostering to be a good experience for everyone involved!

It’s natural to form attachments and important to remember that fostering saves lives. Each adoption opens up space for another dogs in need. Focus on the joy of helping a dog find its forever home and know that you’re making a significant difference in their life.

Prepare a designated area for the dog with bedding, food and water bowls, toys, and a crate if needed. Ensure that your home is safe and secure, removing any hazards or toxic substances.

We will arrange for your foster to stay with another foster parent while you are away.
