How Your Generous Donations Are Used
At Dog Days Rescue, we value the trust and support of our dedicated community. Every donation we receive plays a critical role in our mission to rescue, rehabilitate, and find loving homes for dogs in need. Here’s how we put your contributions to work:
- Medical Emergencies: Because we focus on dogs with immediate and critical medical needs, a large portion of your generous donations are used here. This is where so many lives are saved. These emergencies vary from severe pneumonia that need oxygen treatment to needing blood transfusions due to neglect to being set on fire to other extreme needs.
- Veterinary Care: Medical emergencies and regular veterinary care are where the majority of your generous donations are put to work. Regular veterinary care includes vaccinations, spaying/neutering, bloodwork, any needed testing, dentals and any necessary medical treatments, such as heartworm treatment, to ensure the health of our canine companions.
- Direct Care for Dogs: A portion of your donation goes directly towards the well-being of our rescued dogs. This includes providing them with quality food, monthly heartworm, flea and tick preventatives, any necessary medications, microchipping, grooming as needed, etc.
- Basic Needs: A portion of resources is used for basic needs such as leashes, collars, crates, beds, bowls and other necessities to help each dog feel more comfortable and loved.
- Administrative Costs: Annual licensing fees, software fees, insurance, and things of that nature fall into the administrative category. This is a small portion of where donations are used.
